物心ついた頃に、ブラウン管テレビが埋め込まれた巨大な蟹の足の塔がそびえ立っている場所で、音楽の祭典が待っていると確信する。しかしある時、地球にはそんな場所はないと友人に教えられ、自分でつくるしかないと今に至る。学生時代よりアーティスト/ミュージシャンとして音楽と美術の領域で活動を開始。年代物のオープンリール式テープレコーダーを演奏する音楽グループ「Open Reel Ensemble」を結成してライブ活動を展開する傍ら、ブラウン管テレビを楽器として演奏するパフォーマンス作品「Braun Tube Jazz Band」にて第13回文化庁メディア芸術祭アート部門優秀賞受賞。Ars ElectronicaやSónarを始め、各国でライブや展示活動を展開。ISSEY MIYAKEのパリコレクションでは、これまでに11回に渡って音楽に携わった。2015年より役割を終えた電化製品を新たな楽器として蘇生させ、合奏する祭典を目指すプロジェクト「エレクトロニコス・ファンタスティコス！」を始動させて取り組む。その成果により、第68回芸術選奨文部科学大臣新人賞受賞。
As early as I can remember, I was convinced that there was a music festival waiting for me in the place where a giant crab-leg tower with a built-in CRT TV stood. However, one day, a friend told him that there was no such place on earth, and he decided that he had no choice but to create one himself. Since his student days, he has been active in the fields of music and art as an artist/musician. In addition to forming the music group “Open Reel Ensemble” that plays vintage reel-to-reel tape recorders and developing live activities, they also participated in the 13th Cultural Festival “Braun Tube Jazz Band”, a performance piece that plays CRT televisions as instruments. Received the Excellence Award in the Art Division of the Japan Media Arts Festival. He has performed live and exhibited in various countries including Ars Electronica and Sónar. He has been involved in music for ISSEY MIYAKE’s Paris collection 11 times so far. In 2015, he started the project “Electronicos Fantasticos!”, which aims to revive old electrical appliances as new musical instruments and create an ensemble festival. As a result of his efforts, he received the 68th Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology’s Newcomer’s Art Encouragement Award.
